As a baby, I had pneumonia and it nearly killed me. My parents believe a specific incident may have contributed to my weak immune system. When my mom was pregnant with me she was bit by a rabid dog. She endured twenty one shots of vaccine to her stomach. YES, TWENTY ONE. She truly believes the rabies virus and then the vaccination affected me while inside her. My mom was induced a month early because they said had she gone full term I would have been way too big for her to endure. Even at 8 months, I still had to be nearly ripped out of her. Despite being a big baby, I had a weak immune system.
Our American diet is failing us! Obesity is at an all time high! It's causing us to get ill, fatigued, and miserable. While my supplements are incredible and useful for filling in the nutritional gaps of our diet, imagine how much more potent they would be with a healthier diet and lifestyle?
I watched a captivating documentary called, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead (1 and 2). Joe Cross reversed his failing health and disease with fruits and vegetables! I know many of you hate the taste of fruits and vegetables, which is why I really encourage you to at the very least supplement your diet with my Greens. But if you're serious about improving your overall health and adding years to your life, eat less processed foods, less red meat, and incorporate more fruits and vegetables. Your body will love you for it!
Dr. Fuhrman, who was interviewed in the documentary, sheds light on how our diet really should be. It's very different from the USDA's food pyramid. See the nutritarian food pyramid below:
Doesn't it make sense that we're meant to eat more vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, whole grains and beans than animal products, like the above pyramid suggests? Just look at our bodies! We can't see in the dark, which isn't ideal for hunting. We have flimsy nails, not talons. We have blunt teeth, not sharp ones. This makes it hard to rip into flesh, no? And speaking of flesh, our bodies can't really eat raw meat. We usually cook them to ingest. It makes sense to me that we're meant to have a more green diet!
How are your eating habits now? If you were to make a food pyramid of what you consistently eat, what would it look like? What are some changes you would like to make to your diet? Share your thoughts!
